Our first family camping trip, day one.

We were at site #7.

Aubrey found the perfect spot for our tent

And quickly got to work, clearing the area of rocks.

Lots and lots of rocks.

Meanwhile, Ken unloaded the Truck (loaned to us by Frank - thanks Frank!)

Lots of stuff.

It's a huge tent, yet Ken had no trouble putting it up by himself.

Aubrey found a random toy caught on the bark of a tree.

Yep, it's a big tent.

Once Ken set-up the tent, it was up to me to unpack all of the stuff inside and make it a home.

Our view from the tent. That's the river... across the road, through the trees, down the cliff. By the time we arrived, all of the "good" tent sites were taken. Boo!

Aubrey, inside the tent, participating in one of her favorite activities - removing everything from my purse and then makeup bag.

All set up. Two air mattresses, Aubrey's pack-and-play, an extension cord for our two floor fans.... we even had a faucet right by the grill so that we were able to wash our dishes.

The restrooms weren't far away.

Volleyball.

Horseshoes. Place to rent tubes and rafts. Store to buy bait, ice and other misc. camping things.

The restrooms weren't glamorous, but better than squatting in the woods.

I was thankful for the running water at our tent site and the bottle of handsoap I brought - I did NOT touch this nasty sink!

Aubrey didn't want to linger in the restrooms. I don't blame her.

Inside the store, Ken finds a fishing rod that's almost Aubrey's size.

She wasn't interested.

Just before sunset, we went down to the river to check things out.

This made me SO.NERVOUS. !!

They were standing on this little shelf, then it dropped off to an abyss that was who knows how deep!

Nervous....

Splashing

Back at the tent, Aubrey loved her chair.

Ken made hamburgers and french fries.
